Is a Business Owners Policy right for my business?
Commercial General Liability is most likely the first piece of insurance that business owners think to purchase and many may believe that if they have general liability insurance their own losses are covered as well as the losses of a third party. However, a commercial general liability policy will not protect your own property, only the losses to a third party.
If you have damage to a product you are working on or if you have fire damage to your building a general liability policy will not provide coverage.
If it is important to cover these types of losses, you should consider a Business Owners Policy (BOP). A BOP will replace the hassle of buying individual coverages with buying a package of policies to fully protect your small business.
As an Independent Agency the coverage may vary from carrier to carrier. All of the our carriers' Business Owner Policies offer Commercial General Liability Insurance and Commercial Property Insurance. Most of the policies will also offer business income and extra expense protection after an insured loss.
While a business owners policy is a great option for a small business, it may not provide all of the coverages that a business needs. Some additional coverages that should be considered are workers compensation, professional liability, and commercial auto coverage.
Not all business have access to a BOP due to unique risks that each business faces. If you have additional questions regarding business insurance or if you would like to discuss your unique risks or would like to receive a free quote use the Contact Us link.
